WHY Cambridge?

Being born and raised in North Bay I never thought I would be able to find a place that felt like home other than Northern Ontario. But once Matt and I made the decision to move in together after I finished University, I quickly started to warm up to Cambridge, Ontario, where Matt was born and raised. We thankfully already had family and friends here and had a good idea of the areas that we wanted to live in. I live and play primarily in Galt, but I also love downtown Hespeler and taking a stroll through Riverside Park in Preston.

Being from North Bay I do miss the quick access to lakes, but I love how the Grand River does intertwine throughout the city. When I do need a good lake fix, I am only minutes away from Puslinch lake. I love Puslinch lake and my dream is to one day live on this lake but for now Matt and I will take Chewy swimming there, rent kayaks for the day or enjoy a drink on the Patio at The Old Marina Restaurant  in the summer months.

I am convinced I became so familiar and comfortable with Cambridge as quickly as I did because of the community and culture. Everyone is very welcoming and there is a lot of support for local businesses and restaurants which I love! There is something to do for everyone as well, whether it be joining the Cambridge Rowing Club on George Street, browsing the local shops in the downtown cores, like The Girl Floral or diving into a book at one of the Idea Exchange locations throughout the city.

I also really appreciate the convenience of location. Cambridge is perfectly located right off the 401 highway which makes it a commuters dream. If you need anything that Cambridge does not have .. cough LuluLemon, Aritzia, Sage, Wellness, Costco... it is only a quick 20-minute drive or less into Kitchener/Waterloo or Guelph. Not only is it super close to Kitchener-Waterloo but you are also 1.5 hours away from Toronto for that weekend getaway, a last minute Blue Jays game or a shopping spree.

Overall, I really do enjoy Cambridge, the location cannot get any better, there is a lot of nature all around and the communities within Cambridge are like no other. I have only been here for a short time but I am super excited to grow my roots here!
